Denuzière
"The northern Rhone Valley since 1876"
Established in Condrieu since its creation, the house Denuzière bases its expertise on the wines in the northern Rhone Valley and is anxious to express the full potantial of its emblematic grape varieties, Viognier and Syrah. Faithful to its origins, the company has managed to adapt to the economic situation and to the changes in consumer trends.
Created in 1876 by Joanny Paret under the name "Maison Paret", the company developed mainly in communion wines. In 1905, the separation of the Church and the State obliged him to look for a different kind of clientele : cafés and bars. During the 1940s, Pierre Denuzière, son-in-law of Joanny Paret, took over the family house and gave iti its current name. He passed it on to his two sons, Jean and Joseph, in the 1960s. In the 1990s, the company made what looked like a return to its origins when it bought the cellars of the couvent de la Visitation in Condrieu, built in 1630.
